The Beginning
A miller leaves only his mill, his ass, and his cat to his three sons. The youngest son inherits only the cat and fears hunger. But the clever cat has a plan.
The Clever Cat
The cat asks for boots and a bag, then sets out to catch rabbits and partridges. He delivers these as gifts to the King, claiming they are from his master, the Marquis of Carabas.
The King’s Favor
Over time, the King is impressed by the Marquis’s supposed wealth. The cat continues to make clever plans, securing admiration and attention for his master.
Dealing with the Ogre
The cat approaches a powerful ogre who can transform into animals. Using wit and strategy, Puss defeats the ogre and claims the ogre’s castle for his master.
Marriage and Happy Ending
The King, impressed by the vast estate and the cat’s cleverness, marries his daughter to the Marquis of Carabas. Puss in Boots gains status and wealth, living happily and playing only for amusement.
