Bobino: The Modern Tale

Bobino: The Modern Tale

Once upon a time in a bustling tech-driven city, there lived a wealthy businessman who had an only son named Bobino. Since the boy was sharp and eager to learn about the world, his father sent him to an elite international institute, expecting him to master global business languages like Mandarin, Spanish, and French. After a few intensive years, Bobino completed his studies and returned home.

One evening, as father and son walked through their high-tech smart garden, the smart sensors picked up a chaotic chatter of sparrows nesting in the trees above. The background noise disrupted their conversation, annoying the businessman. To lighten the mood, Bobino smiled and said, "Dad, would you like me to translate what those sparrows are talking about?"

The father looked at him in disbelief and replied, "What are you talking about? Are you downloading sci-fi apps into your brain, or do you think you're some kind of tech wizard?"

"I'm no wizard," Bobino answered calmly. "My institute specialized in advanced bio-acoustics and animal communication systems."

"Goodness gracious, what a waste of my tuition fees!" the merchant exclaimed. "I meant for you to learn human corporate languages, not wildlife frequencies!"

"Have some patience," the son replied. "My professors believed in starting with foundational universal frequencies before moving to human dialects."

As they walked toward the smart villa, their family guard dog ran up to them, barking frantically.

"What's wrong with this hound?" the father muttered. "He knows us inside out, why is he acting aggressive?"

"Shall I decode his bark for you?" Bobino offered.

"Save your digital nonsense," the father snapped, visibly frustrated. "My money completely went down the drain!"

Later that evening during dinner, a chorus of digital frogs from a nearby smart-water conservation pond started croaking loudly. The noise irritated the merchant so much that he lost his cool. "This is the final straw to my daily stress!"

"Would you like me to interpret—" Bobino began.

"Zip it with your interpretations!" shouted the merchant. "Go to your room and don't let me see your face tonight!"

Bobino went straight to his room and fell fast asleep. But his father, still furious over his wasted investment, summoned two private security guards and gave them strict instructions to be executed the next morning.

At dawn, one of the guards woke Bobino up early and escorted him into a self-driving car parked outside. The guard sat beside him while the second guard followed closely on a motorcycle. Bobino had no idea where he was being taken, but he noticed the guard next to him looked deeply depressed, his eyes red from holding back tears.

Curious, Bobino asked, "Why are you so upset? Where are we going?"

After hesitating, the guard broke down and said, "My poor boy, I am taking you to a secluded area off-grid, and worse, I am doing it under your father's direct orders."

"Why?" Bobino asked, shocked. "What crime have I committed?"

"You've done nothing wrong," the guard replied. "Your father is furious that you spent years studying animal communication instead of corporate management. He is determined to get rid of you."

"If that's his decision, do it," Bobino said bravely. "No point delaying the inevitable."

"I don't have the heart for it," the guard whispered. "Let's outsmart him. Your dog followed our car. We'll let the dog go, secure a smart-collar data log to present to your father as proof, and you can slip away safely."

Deep in the remote countryside woods, Bobino stepped out of the vehicle, thanked the guards, and set off on his own journey.

By late evening, he reached a remote farmhouse. The local herdsmen welcomed the polite young traveler and invited him to share their dinner. While they ate, the farm guard dog began barking furiously outside. Bobino paused, listened closely, and told the herdsmen, "Lock up your valuables and secure the perimeter immediately. A gang of cyber-thieves and rural burglars is planning to raid this property at midnight."

Skeptical at first, the herdsmen eventually trusted his warning after Bobino explained he translated it directly from the dog's vocalizations. They set up a strategic defense. Right at midnight, intruders approached, but the prepared herdsmen quickly overpowered and chased them away.

Grateful for saving their livelihood, the herdsmen urged Bobino to stay, but he wanted to explore further and continued his travels.

The next day, he came across a peasant household in deep distress. The family's eldest daughter was critically ill, and a vital medical prescription sent by a specialist doctor had been lost by a careless delivery courier. Bobino, recalling a strange sight he had witnessed earlier of local pond frogs tossing around a small medical vial while croaking in animal language, realized where the missing medicine was. He retrieved the vial from the ditch, gave it to the family, and cured the girl by morning. Refusing any rewards, he moved on.

Shortly after, Bobino rested under a tree near two travelers who were heading to a neighboring town to witness the historic election of a new city governor. While chatting, a flock of sparrows landed on the branch above. Bobino listened intently and whispered to his companions, "The sparrows are discussing that one of us three will be elected governor of the city today."

Hearing this, the two men quietly sneaked away while Bobino fell asleep, rushing ahead to claim the prize.

That afternoon, the town square was packed for a grand civic tradition where a trained majestic golden eagle was released from a tower; whoever the eagle landed near would become the new civic leader. As the eagle took flight, it soared straight over the crowd and landed gracefully on the shoulder of a young man just arriving at the city gates—none other than Bobino, who had followed his peers.

The entire populace cheered, proclaiming him their visionary new leader. They escorted him to the official Governor's Mansion, where he lived happily and ruled the city wisely for years to come.
